our story

Vetted was created by Maya because through her own experience, she knew how bewildering it can be to be a pet parent. After finding herself at the vet and her local ER countless times, she was desperate to put an end to the stress.

She kept asking herself: “Is there a way to prevent these scenarios from arising?”

She spent time with veterinarians who believed that over half of the cases that came into the ER could have been avoided with preventative measures. She also learned that there were steps pet parents could take year-round to give pets their best and happiest lives.

That's when Maya created Vetted to offer a new and better way to care for pets.

Vetted provides personalized services that keep your pet healthy year-round, including 1:1 in-person wellness visits with our veterinary team, and annual care plans with 24/7 advice from trusted veterinary professionals, including tailored education for you and for your pet. Vetted also offers a digital app to easily schedule appointments, track health records, and chataccess with our team.

Being an excellent pet parent has never been so proactive and simple!

What’s the best part about your work at Vetted?

Seeing messages from pet parents about how they changed their daily routines to incorporate preventative health measures for their pets makes my heart full. Pet parents feel so accomplished and proud, and trust me - everyone at Vetted does too! We know what an impact they are having on their little ones and how much their pets will benefit from teeth brushing, supplements, preventative care tasks done at their local vets office, and more!

How did you get to where you are today?

I always loved entrepreneurship. I love filling gaps. I am fueled when someone says “it is not possible” because I feel like I have an opportunity to bring impact in an area that people have already given up on.

As a pet parent to Shor, my French Bulldog, I wanted to ensure that I was doing everything to the best of my abilities so he could live his healthiest and happiest life alongside me. That's when I started to ask Veterinarians what they are doing for their pets. I realized that the gold standard of care exists and Veterinarians could help guide us on what that standard is. With education and support other pet parents could give that standard of care and therefore impact the lives of their pets for the better. That’s how I decided that preventative health for pet parents would be my mission.

What do you do for fun?

I love hosting Shabbat dinners at my home with my husband, Frenchie, and our dear family and friends. Cooking and baking delicious challah bread for Shabbat dinners, warms my heart for the entire week.

What’s the best part about your work at Vetted?

I absolutely love getting to work in the world of pets and pet parents, all day long! Whether it’s chatting with partners about ways to bring Vetted to more pet parents, or talking directly with pet parents about ways Vetted can help them in their pet parenthood journey, I really love it all. Staring at cute photos of cats and dogs all day is pretty great as well. :)

How did you get to where you are today?

My background is in Customer Service and Experience, where I started out working on teams and eventually had the opportunity to lead various teams. I’ve been able to work in a wide variety of industries- ranging from accounting firms, bakeries, manufacturing, and even fabricare/dry cleaning! I love solving problems for customers and working with individuals and teams to create a fantastic product everyone can be proud of.

What do you do for fun?

For fun, I love baking, especially cookies, but I enjoy making all kinds of sweet treats! It’s a great way to unwind and share something delicious with my family. I also cherish our family walks with my husband, kids, and our dog, Melvin—it’s a perfect way to relax and spend quality time outdoors together.

What’s the best part about your work at Vetted?

The best part about my work at Vetted is definitely the chance to combine my passion for animals with the excitement of building something new. Every day, I get to contribute to a mission that genuinely makes a difference in the lives of pets and their parents. Straight out of college I was a high school science teacher, then I did a 20 year stint in Silicon Valley High Tech. Vetted appealed to my animal loving nature and my desire to constantly be learning something new.

What do you do for fun?

My dog Papa and I love exploring the outdoors on hikes. I also quilt. And I am the number one fan at my God-Childrens sporting events.

What’s the best part about your work at Vetted?

The best part of my work at Vetted is being part of an incredible team that strongly believes in the Vetted mission and genuinely cares about one another. It’s not always easy to find your people, but here at Vetted, everyone is encouraged to show up as their unique selves, creating a comfortably diverse environment where ideas flow freely, and inspired action leads the way. The icing on the cake is knowing we’re making a difference in the lives of the pets and pet parents who come through our doors.

How did you get to where you are today?

When I was a little girl, I wanted to be a veterinarian (or a mermaid... but that didn’t seem like a realistic option). I worked in-clinic throughout high school and college to learn the ropes but ultimately decided that studying business communication was more aligned with my path. I accidentally landed a marketing role right out of college at an animal health company, and the rest is history! Throughout my career, I’ve continued to help craft stories, support veterinary hospitals, and lead meaningful campaigns that bring pets and vets together.

What do you do for fun?

I’m a self-proclaimed thrifting queen—whether it’s one-of-a-kind fashion or vintage home goods, I can’t resist a good deal on funky finds. I also love cooking, journaling, practicing Reiki, and picnicking at pioneer cemeteries, bringing a touch of life back by reading aloud or playing old-timey music and honoring the past. But what brings me the most joy is my niece, and getting to be the “cool aunt” is the most important role I have in this lifetime.
