Meet the pet-obsessed team behind Vetted

What's the best part about your work at Vetted?

Seeing messages from pet parents about how they changed their daily routines to incorporate preventative health measures for their pets makes my heart full. Pet parents feel so accomplished and proud, and trust me - everyone at Vetted does too! We know what an impact they are having on their little ones and how much their pets will benefit from teeth brushing, supplements, preventative care tasks done at their local vets office, and more!

How did you get to where you are today?

I always loved entrepreneurship. I love filling gaps. I am fueled when someone says “it is not possible” because I feel like I have an opportunity to bring impact in an area that people have already given up on.

As a pet parent to Shor, my French Bulldog, I wanted to ensure that I was doing everything to the best of my abilities so he could live his healthiest and happiest life alongside me. That's when I started to ask Veterinarians what they are doing for their pets. I realized that the gold standard of care exists and Veterinarians could help guide us on what that standard is. With education and support other pet parents could give that standard of care and therefore impact the lives of their pets for the better. That’s how I decided that preventative health for pet parents would be my mission.

What is the most interesting thing about you?

I love hosting Shabbat dinners at my home with my husband, Frenchie, and our dear family and friends. Cooking and baking delicious challah bread for Shabbat dinners, warms my heart for the entire week.

What's the best part about your work at Vetted?

Besides getting to see photos of our members’ pets every day, the second best part of my job at Vetted is how much each minute of the day is different than the last. I’m constantly solving new problems and it allows me to use my creativity in ways I never imagined.

How did you get to where you are today?

I have a pretty untraditional background for a CTO. I started my career in social media marketing at a creative agency writing copy for clients. I started working on projects where we’d build websites for clients, and in those projects I’d work really closely with the development team, QAing their work and even writing HTML whenever I could. I taught myself how to code in Python (my favorite programming language!). I decided to pursue a career in tech and moved to San Francisco where I started working in tech support. Ten months later, I was promoted to the engineering team. From there, I decided to go to business school where I met Maya. And the rest is history!

What do you like to do for fun?

I love cuddling with my cat Neko, cooking new recipes, and listening to music on my record player!

What's the best part about your work at Vetted?

Brandi is the Chief of People & Pets - more traditionally Chief of Staff, but, just like her career, nothing is truly traditional.  Brandi comes to Vetted with over 10 years of startup experience ranging from tech to fitness, co-working to traditional real estate all with the focus of helping companies build from the ground up.  She brings her unique lens of internal business operations and strategies combined with the voice of the customer to Vetted.  She lives in Austin but she and her 80 pound German Shepherd, Koda, can be spotted frequently around Oklahoma, her hometown.  She loves softball - playing and coaching - and is likely at some sort of field every weekend as one of her personal passion projects is rewriting the athlete experience and what better way to do that than as a coach and mentor to future athletes.

How did you get to where you are today?

My experience is in Operations and helping build businesses. My career in startups has given me the opportunity to work within a multitude of industries including hospitality, fitness, real estate, strategy, and general tech. The core of my roles have always been about building processes and finding solutions that help a business and team grow all while working towards the bigger mission.

What do you do for fun?

I love to workout, play softball, and watch true crime. I am a huge family person and can usually be found doing something fun with them when I’m not at the gym or coaching/playing softball.

What's the best part about your work at Vetted?

I absolutely love getting to work in the world of pets and pet parents, all day long! Whether it’s chatting with partners about ways to bring Vetted to more pet parents, or talking directly with pet parents about ways Vetted can help them in their pet parenthood journey, I really love it all. Staring at cute photos of cats and dogs all day is pretty great as well. :)

How did you get to where you are today?

My background is in Customer Service and Experience, where I started out working on teams and eventually had the opportunity to lead various teams. I’ve been able to work in a wide variety of industries- ranging from accounting firms, bakeries, manufacturing, and even fabricare/dry cleaning! I love solving problems for customers and working with individuals and teams to create a fantastic product everyone can be proud of.

What is the most interesting thing about you?

I love to bake (cookies especially, but really anything sweet!). I also love to go for family walks with my dog, Melvin, my husband, Jon, and my daughter, Ellie!

How did you get to where you are today?

I started my artistic practice drawing bunnies in elementary school, and started my UX career as a designer for complex cyber security applications.

What is the most interesting thing about you?

I enjoy taking photos, screen printing with friends, and hanging out outdoors.
